Hello ~ I'm new at all of this too and SO happy to have found this forum! What I need to do is change the message that plays when a caller (an employee or family of employee) calls an employee directly on our "back door" line which is not the line that our messages are recorded on. They are given a short message and given the directory of extensions. I need to re-record the message that plays now. How do I change this message? We have 12 lines that come into the main reception phone, and one of these lines is the one that has it's own unique message.

Thanks in advance!

If your back door number has a different message then in you voicemail system programming it would be associated with a different Greeting Table than your front door numbers. If you check your line answer programming in you voicemail system you can determine which table and then play and re-record the associated message. Do you know what Norstar line numbers your telephone numbers are associated with? Do you have a manual?

Yeah what he said but since your still new....
Go to repection set and press FEATURE * 0, press the backdoor line and note the line numbers you see on the screen (eg. 008 Line 8, its the first 3 digits you are intrested in). press rls after note the back door line numbers.

Go into feature 983 and enter the login pswrd, press AA,Lines, enter Line number of backdoor you noted, press middle key til you see Table number your line uses (1,2,3 or 4) on the screen, press * to back up untill you see GRTNG TABLE and LINES, Press Table, enter Table number you saw your lines uses, press Ok, Ok and look to see what number Greeting the Morning plays, note it, Press * to backup untill you see GRTNG TABLE and LINES again, press Grtng, Grting again then enter the greeting number you noted for the morning, press play, if it sounds like the greeting re-record it right there.
There a few more places to check but check the above first and let us know.

Good luck!

I have a customer that has the same thing that you are talking about. The place I change that message is Feature 983 - Password - press AA - Table 1 - AA Menu prompt:Y
Change this to N and record your own Menu from there.
This is just one more place to look.

Hello again ~ I have received some EXCELLENT assistance from this forum, thank you all! I have what seems like a basic need but can't find information on how to set it up. I searched all of the posts but maybe I did not find the key word or phrase I needed to look under.

There are 2 phones in 2 adjacent offices. Office 2 is vacant but the person in office 1 frequently goes into office 2 to work. How can I set up the phone in Office 1 to ring in both Office 1 and Office 2 so he can hear it when he is in Office 2? (It is loud in that room so he can't hear it ring in Office 1 and do a pickup line.) We thought about having him forward the phone but he works in both offices so frequently that it would be nice if we could set up the phone to ring in both offices.

I appreciate your help once again! Karma10
