I am trying to open a report out of CR 8.0 / 8.5 . This fails everytime with the following error messages:

"An ole object in this report could not be loaded. It has been replaced by a blank object."

When I say OK I get: "Failed to open document."

Then: "Not supported."

and last but not least: "Not a 4.x or earlier version of Crystal Reports."

Remember: The report was created with CR 8.5 and has worked without any problems until now.

Has anybody a solution?

Thanks

I've found the solution to this problem. Surprisingly it isn't an issue of CR but of Norton AntiVirus 2001/2002.

There's an article in Crystal Decisions Knowledge Base (Article ID c2010184). However, the workaround is to disable script debugging in NAV. Not really a solution, but Norton sais that they are still searching.

Just FYI.

I have McAfee, not Norton, and no OLE objects in my report. I can't find a place to disable script debugging in McAfee. Any other thoughts?

thanks
