I'm using SOE with analogue and SIP trunks and mainly digital handsets.

There seems to be a problem with external calls on the analogue line, with external parties often complaining that they can barely hear extension users (digital).

Calls using the analogue trunk and an analogue extension through IPO are fine.

I've tried adjusting the gain control for the trunk with no luck, it does alter the quality, but does not resolve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Are you using headsets on the digital phones?

Tried with and without headsets, seems even worse with headset, but bad even just using the handset.

Try turning off AGC. Menu->Options->Right page button->turn them all to off.
