Hi

I'm hoping this can be answered quickly, if possible.

Is it possible to add Grouping to a DataReport without using MSDataShape, or setting up a child command?

I'm using an ADO with Access databases but there's a lot of processing and comparing to other recordsets.

Thanks in advance

What I really want is a list of clients broken up by client dept. so that on change of client Dept there's a group header saying what the dept is.

i.e.

Dept: 1
Client 1
Client 2

Dept: 2
Client 3
etc

I have written an report already, which is an Aged Debt report sorting either by value or client surname but now need to do one grouping by department.

I was hoping I could just add a group header and add the client dept., and then disable it unless the user chose an option to sort by client dept.

As it is I've looked at using a different environment and report and MSDataShape with client department as the parent command and the client data as the child command. I was hoping that I could use the existing environment's recordset as it would have gone through all the processing and then copy it to the new environments recordset.

BTW - I have to set up the data source dynamically.
