I use Sysprep on a standard image and I have to look at the possibility of using RIS instead, to make deploying easier...

I have a question:
Do I lose the specific things I have setup, installed etc when using RIS?
Doesn't RIS do a 'fresh' Windows install with some extra settings in the winnt.sif file.....

I have my standard image and don't want to lose all the specific config, folders etc.....

Sometimes it just needs a good kicking.

what I mean is :

i use sysprep and ghost to duplicate standard images.....

If I use riprep will i have the same partitions, the same installed applications etc..

I cant find a straight answer

Have you got a test machine where you can try it and check the result?

Have you checked out any of the Server Forums?
