johnpoole, if user 5678 is on an active call I can first disable the TN, make my changes, then reenable the TN and they won't ever have been disconnected from their call??

I imagine John was just saying to disable a phone before making a change. If you disable a phone while someone is on it it will drop the call.

that is what I thought, but from reading switchy's original post I think s/he may have thought s/he could disable the TN, make his change, reenable the TN and not cut off an existing call.

The first command John listed is STAT. You STAT their phone to see if it is IDLE. If it is, then disable it and they will be unable to make calls. Make your changes, then ENL (enable) the phone. If you explain to a user that they couldn't make phone calls for two minutes because you were making a change to their phone, it's a lot better than telling them that you disconnected their call because you were making a change to their phone.

Either way, there's going to be a period of time where call processing from the set in question will have to cease.

Question can you make script and set a time for it to run in Procomm? In other words do what ever changes you need during the day and then have them execut after hours. Just a thought.

yes you can, it will run whenever you want, use the pause (sec) command in aspect. if you don't do a lot of scripts, here is a few shortcuts. logo. start the script recorder tools script record or alt ].. logi, do you change down to the last prompt. then 4 **** out. edit the script to remove the **** and add transmit "^M" which is enter. you can modify this script and reuse it for other changes. hint. try it on the switchroom phone with a pause 5 command, after the proc main prompt
