I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but just wanted to make sure.

cisco 2500 (68030) processor (revision N) with 14336K/2048K bytes of memory

In terms of the memory it shows, that means that there is 14 megs total and 2 megs are used.... right?

Please let me know...

Burke,

Your router has 16 Meg of memory. 14 Meg is allocated to the processor and 2 Meg is allocated to I/O funcitons. You can use a show mem command to find out how much processor memory is in use.

No.. you have a total of 16 meg in this router. Out the 16, 2 meg (for a 2500) is used as *shared* DRAM and the rest is available for the system.

If you had 8 meg, it would be 2meg and 6meg.
