Quick question on alerts

Hello,

I am trying to set up alerting for all the backup jobs that we have in our offices. I have opened up the Alert console and configured SMTP server, address etc and when I send a test e-mail it works fine.

However, we don't get any e-mail alerts from any of the backup jobs - do I need to configure each backup job or can I set something centrally?

Hi,
In options you'll need to configure each backup job on what kind of info you want (Failed, Canceled, Successful)

So what purpose does the Alerting console have then?, as each Activity log is stating it sent an SMTP alert (we don't recieve any e-mails)

We have over 100 jobs company wide - its going to take ages to amend each job :(
