i am running XP Pro SP2. almost always after i reboot or login, the quick launch icons do not show up on the task bar. i can enable it via right click on task bat, then toolbars the quick launch. but then next time it often will not show up after next login.

this is an IBM X40 laptop. at work i am using an ultra bay with external monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.

thanks in advance.

hmmm....i did that and will test it tomorrow. many thanks!

There is the possibility it is BlazeFind or a variant.
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

In the right pane under Userinit, Change the key to read:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,
(Note the , after .exe)

Then use Kelly Theriot's utility to repair Quick Launch:
Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! Quick Launch - Repair

Finally, apply this patch:
Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

once again, you are the man...no problems this AM. the quick launch was sitting pretty in the task bar.

i am rather paranoid type and am continuosly runnin glatest virus and spam filters.

thanks.
