Can anyone tell me if the below is possible?

I am running redundant IPO servers version 9.1.6 in expansion mode with 7 V2 chassis all running 9.1.6
We are also using Voicemail Pro 9.1.6 build 2

I have asked my vendor to create a flow for personal conference rooms so they are all accessible from the outside via a single DID#

This is the call flow I asked for

Caller calls into a single DID to join the conference.
AA then asks to enter the conference ID followed by the # sign.
Once the conf ID is confirmed, It will ask them to enter the conference pin.
Once the Pin is entered, It will get them into the bridge.
If the moderator has already joined it will get them in and if not it will play MOH until thier arrival

I also asked for a button that I can assign to each set that will allow the users to set/change thier PIN and a button that will take them directly into thier room
User presses a button on the phone. Module asks them to enter their ID. Once the ID is entered, It will ask them to enter their new Pin followed by the # sign. Once the pin is entered, It will say Pin change the call will disconnect.

Thier response

1) We cannot enter a conference pin when the caller calls in as the only authentication method to join the conference call is the conference ID of the person who will be conducting it/ Moderator
2) Password change module is not required as to join the call you will not be needing a conference pin/password. The pin is only used if the moderator wants to open the bridge externally. In your case this will not be happening
3) We cannot program a button on the users phone to open up a conference bridge as there is no such logic in the short code section. The only way this is possible is if we go under each users phone and program a button to dial out **XXXX(XXXX will be the extension). The other option is that user open up their conference bridge just by dialing **extension

According to this page it can be done

Please advise and thanks in advance!!

You must have moderatored or un moderatored conferences.
You cannot dynamically switch a conference between the two.

Hi rdoubrava
I dont understand what you mean by that

Are all your conferences moderatored?

I'm doing Option #1 on my system.
Option #2 is not an option.
For moderatored conferences to work you need to use the conference pin section in the user section. I have found no way to change the field other than using manager. You can do this is using one-X.
Option #2 is possible if you are using non moderatored conferences.

Hi rdoubrava
So far we dont have either. i am just trying to roll this out
Are you saying that if we have PINS they will be put directly into the rooms??

the ip office assistance page references a set of bridges designed by the late Kyle Holladay. These bridges use the voicemail callback number as the bridge PIN number (Pxxxxxxx in the user source number tab, wherein the x's are your desired PIN). This particular number is used precisely because it is easily retrieved, and potentially modified by VM Pro generic action when used as described.

I personally still use this type of bridge design over the 'stock" Avaya one precisely for reasons like this... the fact that the PIN codes can be fiddled with, that moderated and unmoderated versions of these bridges can be built. In fact it is possible to have both types of bridges exist on the same system, you could point one DID at the moderated version, another at the unmoderated, use different internal shortcodes to access the two types, and have one PIN for one user, accessing both types of bridges. There are other requirements re the types of system shortcodes that are generating the bridges that would dictate that whether you are generating a moderated or unmoderated bridge, with the appropriate callflow design dictating whether only the moderator had to put in a code.

rdoubrava is correct in that you cannot dynamically switch between the two bridge types. You'd have to send out a calendar invite pointed at the correct DID that got you to the type of bridge you wanted to use.

I use the conference bridges without a PIN because it is a real PITA
All callers are on hold if the moderator is not in and the moderator calls in via a different DID and the FNE services.

Moderator calls in from cell phone (or whatever number is the twinning number) and dial a shortcode to reach the same prompt for the conference bridge selection. Then enters his/her own extension and all participants are together. No need for a PIN because your authentication is your extension number even from outside due to the FNE.

I have to say the Kyle Holladay's conference bridge is a work of art and I have used it in the past a lot if people didn't want to call in from their cell phones and rather call in from any phone.

Avaya should include this in VM Pro. It saved my day many times, and the best part of Kyle's Conf. brigde is that you can modify conf. steps to customer's needs.

I just used fixed pins.

You need a new business partner as all three of their answers are completely false. What you've requested is possible and not difficult.
