Quick BCM licence question..

I have a dead BCM50 R1 that im replacing tomorrow I have an feeling I will end up getting a R3 to R5 system does anyone know if...

1. A R1 backup will restore on a newer system
2. If I migrate the keycodes will krs migrate to the new system s/w release, will I have any issue if I re-imaged the drive back to R1

1. Can not restore to a different s/w level.
Moving key to the newer s/w will move it in KRS to the newer s/w so if you go back to rel 1 the krs will still show it as 3.0 or 5.0 and if you generate key they wont load on the lower rel 1.

if you have an image of your BCM you can re-image it to a new SATA HDD
and install that with the LIC file...
