Hi All:

I have a parts manager at one of our branches that has decided the he needs a visual status indicator for his parts queue. Apparently his parts agents have a tendency to talk too long, leaving pending calls waiting longer than necessary and he thinks that this will make them move things along. Does anyone know of any kind of visual status indicator (he says he wants a stoplight!) that we can hang in that area so the parts agents can keep an eye on the queue status? I've done some google searches for anything along those lines and I've struck out completely. My Cisco contracter has never set up anything like this, so I thought I'd try here. Thanks in advance!!!

I replied to a similar post before (or is this the same person??).

Basically what I suggested last time was to use the SQL RealTime database (RtCSQsSummary). This table shows CSQ RealTime information and thus shows when a call is queued.

If you had a simple VB (say) application you could get it to turn a lamp on whenever a call is waiting.

Maybe better ways but this is cheap!!

Thanks for the suggestion Neily! I think that they've backed off of the request for the time being (fortunately) because they found that people just weren't making themselves ready to take calls. You just gotta love it when the "phone" problems turn out to be people problems!
