We currently have a 406v2 running 3.2. We are looking at possibly upgrading to a new 500v2 with the latest IP Office software. I'm wondering if the 8.1 release of IP Office still requires rebooting the whole system when making certain changes. It's a pain to have to reboot the whole system just to make a change to an extension. Also, is the system still managed by a Windows app, or is configuration now done with a web app?

Far less reboots now, but extension changes require a logoff/on if handsets are connected, yes still Manager app but web is coming...it will not change everything Manager will I doubt :)

even in V3.2 if you are needing to reboot the IPO regularly then you are probably doing it wrong

changing extns: in most cases it is better to swap the patch cables, only swap in programming if you are changing device type ( ie analog to Digita)

Lately it's been a lot of people moving locations where one work area has a digital phone, and their new area has an IP phone. It would be nicer if everyone had an IP phone and then they could just move it with them.

Our 406v2 system currently has a digital DCPx30 module, two POTS30+ analog modules and one POTS30v2 analog module connected to the control unit. If we upgrade the 406v2 to a 500v2 do we also have to replace the other analog and digital modules?
