Questions about email address

Hi,
I need to control the input of email address. What is the maximum number of characters for email address? And can you tell the good email regular expression, please? I found some but they still have a fault. For example, they can not realize this fault address
abcdef@yahoo.com;dsdsd
or
abcdef@yahoo.com\dsdsd

Try here for reguar expressions. As far as I know the maximum total length of a user name or other local-part is 64 and the same for the domain name but you should do some research on this to make sure it is correct.
