I am learning to create templates in CR 2011.
First question raised.
While creating a @<TemplateField> fields in report details section, how many of these fields we need to insert. For example if i create only 3 @<TemplateField> in template and then how does it will work for a report which will have 5 fields?

I don't follow what the question's about, but since no one else has answered, I'l try.

Templates in Crystal impose a style on existing reports. It's nothing like a Template in Word, where you can choose a template and get a basic document that you can adapt. It's more like Word's [Style] function, imposing a look on what already exists. You can get it to add extra fields, but I found it inconsistent and not very useful. It would probably be great if you were producing documents for senior managers who want a very particular 'house style', perhaps for publication. Myself, I've never been asked to do this.

You can get a similar function to templates in Word by creating a dummy report and then using [Save As] to create new reports based on this.
