I would like increase the size of a group mailbox, we are running Avaya Modular Messaging 4.0.

The Server Status says the Percent of media space in use (contains queues): 5.5 %. I assume there is disk space available, am reading this correctly?

The help guide states the maximum size a mailbox can be is 174 minutes (currently the mailbox is set to 139 minutes) depending on the audio encoding used.

Do I need to determine which audio encoding is used on the server or am I safe to just increasing the mailbox size to 174 minutes?

Any information or assistance would be appreciated.

Sincerely

Keith

I'm assuming by your statements that you are using an MSS storage backend. You can verify if you have GSM encoding in the MAS, VMSC, Audio Encoding. You should be safe to increase but you can also check the system storage in the MSS reports to see what the overall picture of disk usage is. GSM encoding gives you more storage allotment by virtue of the type of encoding than G.711.

Hi
Thank you for your reply; I checked the system is configured to G711 which from trying does not allow you to create a mailbox large then 139 minutes.

Is there away in Avaya modular messaging or ASA to send incoming voice messages to another voicemail box if the one mailbox is full?

Sincerely

Keith
