For a long VGA cable maybe some outfit that sells extensions for those network boxes that control multiple computers might work. The only problem is they usually have the mouse and keboard plugs on them. Cable is kind of expensive.
If you work for a company, ask the network guys if they have some magazines from some of the outfits that sell computer supplies.

You might like to consider this point before buying your 5M VGA extension.
I recently fitted a 2M extension to my monitor and it caused noticable patterning on the display. I had to take it out again.
Steve.
sggaunt, did you have the appropriate ferrite rings on either end of that extension cable? If you didn't, then than may explain the patterning. The rings help prevent unwanted signals returning back down the cable, to be produced as "echos".
No, not yet. I've been too nusy but the Lindy site seems to be the cheapest and I'll use them when I get round to it. I'll also keep my USB cables to 5m max.
No Ferites are supplied with cheap CPU cables, I suppose if I had purchased some clip on's that the cable wouldn't have been so cheap!!!.
Any way I diddnt need the extension in the end, so no problem.
