For lack of a better place to post this:

I deal with about 4 computers in my life right now - my main work PC, a laptop, and 2 home PCs.

One thing that aggravates the heck out of me is to look for an IE 6 Favorite, only to realize I created it on one of my other computers.

Any suggestions for a quick and efficient way to "synchronize" Favorites between my computers?

email all of the links to yourself then open each link up using all of your computers and put them in your favorites or better yet email them all to your account and when you need one of the websites just go to your account and it is there!

When you export your favorites from IE or FireFox, it usually ends up in an HTML format. Just save that puppy to a thumb (usb flash) drive and take it with you everywhere.

Just pop in the flash drive, set up a neat auto-run if you like, and open the html file for the list of your favorites.

Hey, now that is downright cool!

Even better yet, I have my own web site, so I could potentially just post that HTML file on my own web site, and any time I want to add a new link, I'd just upload a new favorites file. Anywhere I have Internet access, I could get at my Favorites.

Thanks!

Steve

Another option is to just store your favorites folder on one of your computers share it out, edit the appropriate ShellFolders registry entry and point them all to the same network location. If need be you can make what is in that network share available offline and let offline files and folders synchronize any changes.

It's a good idea to save your favourites somewhere, just as a backup. A Word document will do fine, and so will a Notes item within Microsoft Outlook.
