Does anyone know how how to prevent that little easy save image bar from appear above a jpg? (IE6) I'm not trying to prevent someone from saving my images, i just dont want that little bar disturbing the overall look of the page. I've noticed on some sites jpg's it shows up and others it doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I do beleive it depends on the user's settings. I think you can probably disable it in the browser settings...

Check out this site. On the first page the save as bar doesn't appear on the jpgs. But once you click on one of the images the page you are sent to shows the bar. Whats the difference between the jpgs on the first page and the ones on the second? I'm on a mission to figure this out now. : ) I'm thinking if it was an integral part of IE6 then it would show up on all the images. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Ginger

The one is a link, the other is just an image... if the image is a hyperlink, then the toolbar does not show. So a quick fix to disable that toolbar would be to put a hyperlink on each image. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It was driving me crazy!
Cheers.

Here's some other info I found in case anyone else is interested in why the bar pops up.
From IE6 help index

"The image toolbar does not display for all images. The image must be at least 200 x 200 pixels to use the image toolbar. To save a smaller image, right-click anywhere on the image, and then click save."

Download this extension and use it !!!

This object inserts a meta tag into the head of your page, instructing IE6 not to display Image Toolbars on that page. For completeness, I've also added the ability to specifically allow Images Toolbars on a page, should you choose to do so.

Features include support for insertion within code view, and the detection of an existing Image Toolbar meta in the page. If a Image Toolbar meta already exists, the extension will modify the existing tag rather than insert a duplicate.

The Insert Image Toolbar Fever! object can be found in the Head section of the Objects panel.

If you would just like to get rid of it while you're surfing you can go into Tools-Internet Options-Advanced. In the Multimedia section just untick the box that says Enable Image Toolbar.

I believe you can also get rid of it by right-clicking on the image toolbar when it pops up - you should get the option of just getting rid of it temporarily or permanently.

put this in your HEAD

<META HTTP-EQUIV=&quot;imagetoolbar&quot; CONTENT=&quot;no&quot;>

it does exactly what it says on the tin

Hi Guys,

Just read the above and is all very interesting. However, does anyone know if there is a way to edit this toolbar and place an extra button on it that will load the image into an art package (say photoshop) without having to save it and then either load it from within photoshop or double clicking on it from within explorer?

Hope some one can help

Cheers

more than likely not possible, but a drag 'n' drop onto an open Photoshop window works just as easily.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?

u would have to edit Client SIde....
1. talk to cretors of IE
2. go arround the world and edit settings for each IE user
