Hi,
I have a Phaser 840N with 128Mb Ram, if I change the ROM with a ROM from an 840DP will that increase the print resolution? Will be available to print in duplex? Thank you for answers.

Yeah, you will be able to duplex, and the resolution wil be the same. You will have job pipelineing and preview. It will enable the scsi port{if present} for external devices.

Is it possible to activate the duplex function without changing the ROM?

Those printers have everything built in them already. For example. The different features such as network, and duplex are either enabled, or disabled depending on which ROM you have in the printer. You have to change the ROM to enable the features that you don't have.
