Question about subreports 2

An ex co-worker created a report with a subreport in it. Whenever the end user runs the report they have to enter the date parameter twice. Is there a way to set it up so the date only needs to entered once? One stp calls select clinical data and the other one provides a total count of all procedures. I'm using CR 8.5.

Right click on the Subreport, click on Change Subreport Links, and link the parameter from the main report to the subreport.

To elaborate on Dave's post, link the main report parameter to the subreport field (the subreport doesn't need a parameter).
