Dear,

I need some help in order to clarify these concepts on the Server Edition:
We have a primary SE with three Expansion System Control Unit (V2). On the server I have 100 IP extensions and in each Expansion System Control Unit (V2) I have one plot E1-R2, one analog trunk plate and a plate of digital and analog extensions.
Users, extensions, E1 line, analog lines, ARS are set on each Expansion System Control Unit (V2).
When the server goes down, can users connected to each Control Unit Expansion System (V2) receive and make external calls (raster and / or analog trunks)?
Can they receive and make internal calls? For how long?
When the server is down, does exist a way for different users Control Unit Expansion System (V2) to communicate?

Thank you very much for your help

It is all possible but only with server edition select. I think it will be cheaper if you purchase a secondary server.

It's very likely, but unfortunately, it depends on how it is configured. That's a serious answer. God knows your company spent enough on the solution. There should be a network plan!

I'm reading between the lines here, and assuming that your expansion systems are connected in different locations to your server edition.
Assume if server edition is in New York & expansion systems are London, Paris and Wudinna.

Wudinna may or may not be locally dialling out primarily from their expansion system. You may have it configured to dial out on 99999 (Server Edition) only, 99998 (London) or 99997 (Paris)

You're going to have to check your ARS forms.

Your users would be able to make internal/external calls on their expansion system only.
Any local licenses becomes invalid after 30 days; an offline license swap-out exists.

You need to talk to your BP about adding a secondary server for resiliency.

Thanks for your help!!

The expansion systems are connected in same locations to your server edition.

When the server goes down, users of each expansion system, can they dialling to other expansion system extension?

Can users calling to the public network E1-R2 line?

Regards

Unlikely, as you probably have set it up as a star, with trunks going back to the server edition only, not as a mesh with trunks in all directions.

Daddy! Geh UP! APPLES!

With Select you can create trunks between expansions so that you can create short codes to go directly to PSTN even if the server fails.

standard server edition gives you unlimited free voice networking licenses between the primary (and also secondary server if present) and any other device.

Unless you PURCHASE voice networking licenses, if you only have a primary, then you will have ZERO SCN connectivity between any of the expansions if the primary goes down. If you had a secondary, the SCN would still be up, as you would be running an effective 'double-star' SCN network.

Assuming each expansion had E1/T1 access, users would be able to receive and make calls. If ICR's targeted VM pro modules, you'd need fallbacks in place as targets (users, HG's) as VM Pro is gone when that lonely primary is down.

The Voice Networking channels are there in a SE solution but I don't think that you will be allowed to create SCN links between nodes as long as the SE is not select.

A secondary server can help as long as the connection to the main branch works.
