My company is getting ready to deploy several sites, all with very similar configurations.

Does anyone know of a tool where I can build the configuration, then upload it to several systems.

Also, can I backup the translations from one PBX and restore them on another. I know the license file would need to be re-uploaded, but would the actual translations be copied allowing us to "mass-produce" systems?

Finally, is there a way to backup the translations onto a PC to be saved on our corporate server in case a system totally dies and needs to be rebuilt?

Thanks in advance...

Kris

Avaya Site Administrator will allow you to export and import stations, coverage paths, agent ids, auth codes, cor, data mods, hunt groups, trunk groups, vdns, and vectors. The station button assignments do not export and import. There are also alot of other translations that are not exportable or importable with ASA.

There is another tool called ProVision that will do exactly what you describe. It is only available to Avaya associates and business partners.

we buy provision on an as needed basis as it is VERY expensive. So even if you found a business partner to offer this "service" for a fee I don't see how it could be cost effective as a disaster recovery effort... however if you are about to "go live" with multiple sites you may ask your vendor if they know about or have access to provision for this intitial launch period, especially if the sites will all be similar. You can import into provision via excel spreadsheets, and these can reside anywhere.

Are these new swithes? the new 8700 can do a save trans via ftp. You could also buy extra Flash cards and keep copies of all your switches in the corp office.

lots of options...

I think You can prepare one configuration in the normal way, run another system with the saved translation from the first switch and then install the license file. it is similar to upgrading the older version of Defnity to the actual one

best regards
