Hello, all!

This is a question about MCRs. I have three phones in my computer room. They are programmed as such...

Code:
Phone 1: 0=8570 1=7570 2=8653 3=7653 4=8654 5=7654
Phone 2: 0=8571 1=7571 2=8653 3=7653 4=8654 5=7654
Phone 3: 0=8653 1=7653 2=8654 3=7654

The first two have personal extens which are MARPed and forward to VM. Phone 3 is MARP for the four "global" extens that everyone uses when in the computer room, and what people call in on for help.

What I was wondering is if I could nix phone 3 and replace the four "global" extens with a single MCR on 8653 or whatever.

This number should NOT go to voicemail, so should I keep phone 3 and have it MARPed there to not FNA?

What if three people are on that 8653 line on the three phones? Will that line still ring (or buzz) or will I get a busy signal?
If it will ring busy, can I add an alternate "global" exten MCR 7653 to expand the number of incoming calls?
Then would I use LHK 1 on the MARPed phone to raise the call to the alternate exten like we do already?

The lines are all SCRs now, which works great for the personal lines, but is kind of annoying for the "globals". The SCRs do work as teh MARPed phone is LHK 3 and FND.

I'm unclear about the whole MCR/MCN thing, since none of our phones have had this programmed previously. I only found out about it through these forums. The MCRs have worked extremely well for our security guards and our call center queue-bypass line, so thanks everyone for the info!

the only problem with mcr is when an mcr is ringing. the next caller can get a busy.. only during the ring cycle.

what we do here is

key 0 mcr 1000
key 1 mcr 1000
key 2 mcr 2000

lhk 2 cls hta hunt 000.. that stops the all line ringing type busy.. it is a pretty solid rule.. if a dn does not appear on key 0 anywhere and does not have an analog appearance, it will not cfw or hta.. in your case if you dial 7570, the call will not go to mail.. if you dial 8570 and it's busy the call will lhk to 7570 then it can fdn to mail.. the upper mcr keys should not go to mail if dialed directly...

MCR's are Multi app of an ext, say 8653. You get a call on 8653 and it rings all app of MCR 8653 and the first one that ansers it gets that call and all the other app's are avail for another call. you can have more that 1 app of an MCR on the same phone.
