Hi all

Our customer have a pair of S8800 server CM rls 6.0 on the main site with 4 G650 Gateways and ESS S8800 signle server on the remote site with 2 G430 Gateways, Now all IP Phones on either Main or remote site register to the CLAN boards located on the main site..

Due to IP network issues we want that all IP Phones on the ESS site register locally withtout travaeling until the main but we have only G450 on this ESS site...so I need to know the best practice to solve this:

Either Configure ESS Processor Ethernet interface on AGL list of IP Phones located on ESS site.

Or move one G650 Gateway to ESS site and configure its CLAN to serve local IP Phones..

Please any advice will be apreciated

Thanks in advance

Regards

The point of an ESS is obviously for redundancy , you can enable procr break the vpn link to the main site and phones will register locally but you will not be able to save translations and it will error after 30 days , if this is temporary until you fix the issues with the IP link Fine , If not you really need to think about getting a decent quality vpn in place or reloading the ESS as a core server and set up a sip or h323 trunk between sites , but I think the key is to get your link stable.

Thanks montyzummer, but what about the second solution of moving one G650 Gateway to the ESS site and configure it's CLAN cards to register local IP Phones...?

Thanks

A G650 (not sure about the G450) could be setup as one of the PN off the main system, then you could assign all of the resources in that PN to the local Network region. You would still need to build out the ESS at that location to give it survivability in the case of network outage.

you could do that with the g450 , but again with the link going up and down you are always going to have issues, if the ESS stays as is.
