what is a zip drive used for,an what does text or html mean, what is url,and mp3,and what does Lpt stand for,and can i save all changes to my computer to a disc or cd.can i record video with a dvd rom and a cd-r or cd-rw
1. A zip drive uses Zip Disks, like a Floppy drive uses Floppy disks. A Zip disk is used for storage, like a floppy disk, except much larger space available on a Zip Disk.
2. Text is the written letters printed on your monitor (like what you are reading) and other mediums like newspapers, books, etc.
3. HTML stands for HyperText Mark-up Language. It is the written programming code for Web pages. There are other codes that mingle with HTML.
4. URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator and basically points to a place, like a web site or file site. More information here,
6. LPT stands for Line Printer Terminal. Its the port where printers usually are located (look on the back of your computer for a 25 pin female port). If you have a printer look at the two ends of the cable, both different.
7. Preferrably you shouldn't save any changes from your computer to a CD. You would never be able to change it unless you had a Re-Writable CD. Plus, it would take too long to save and too long to receive data from the CD to be worthwhile for your benefit. Save everything to your HD unless its a Document or Picture, or you are moving a file from one computer to another. You should then use a CD or floppy disc.
8. You can record a DVD to a CD-R or CD-RW but you would have to change the format to DivX, unless there is a new program I am not aware of. DivX is an OLD DVD style that was available for a short time for really cheap because you had to pay each time you wanted to watch the video. FOr more info,
