Good Morning,
I have a normal IP phone 2528 or (xxx) xxx-2528 that starting mid yesterday cannot be reached internally or externally. The phone works when I pick it up and I can make calls from it. However when you call this phone either way it goes straight to a voicemail box stating that the box has not been setup yet. I don’t even think that is the VM box for this extension because they do have a Name Greeting set for this box I listened to it. I noticed the 2528 Prime line key on this phone does one quick flash but does not ring when called however, the caller always ends up in VM immediately.
I checked call forwarding and it was setup and active for internal/external Busy/No Answer scenarios to go to VM. I tried deactivating all call forwarding but the 2528 button still acts the same and the caller ends up in VM somehow. I checked and made sure this phone wasn’t in a hunt group and it is not. I even swapped out the phone then changed the network port and I still get the same results (I then swapped them back). Eventually I tried activating internal/external call forwarding to their other phone and this actually worked as a temporary fix.
Obviously I’m missing something but I just can’t figure out what could cause this if it’s not the phone, call forwarding, in a group, or front ended with voicemail. Has anyone else seen before? We have Openscape 4000 V7R2 with redundant Echo processors.
Thank you have a good Wednesday all!
Rob
