This question makes no more sense here than it does in the public.access.queries news group.

Is there anyway you could tell us what you have, what you want, and why?

i m trying to create a access queries tat extracta list of potential nos that will match the existing nos based on pattern

the pattern are 1->>4-->>7

I am creating this access module based on the local lottery system.

I can't identify any pattern. Maybe someone else has a clue what you are attempting to do.

okie

if the table cell came out 2499

the wizard will generate a list of potential nos like

2899 or
2199 or

0499 or etc. .

Are you asking how to generate random numbers? There are no "cells" in Access. Why are 2899 and 2199 potential numbers? Do all potential numbers end with 99? Why 99 and not 98?

i mean a row tat had this information. creating pattern reading in the access.

I'm with Duane ... this makes no sense.

Given a number ... say 2499
Please show us the detailed process that would result in numbers like 2899 or 2199 or 2466 or 5499.

1->>4-->>7 doesn't suggest anything that I can recognize as a pattern.

And "xxx" are what exactly? Digits?

And is there some rule for how they are determined?

Why do you select the last digit in
7612 - xxx2

but the first digit in
4617 - 4xxx

?

Please understand ... we know nothing about your local lottery system and, lacking a description of how it works, there's no possibility that we will understand what you are trying to do.

it is okay as long i can select 3 digit and the dummy be replaced by another a range of nos.

in other words

eg if the nos came out 7612 (1267), the query will be 1x67

when x = 4 or 8 or anyt digit (1467)

i m trying to create a queries so that i can query the results and add a dummy nos to the 3 digit.

i hope u understand where i am going on.

if we placed all the nos in simple manner

0467
1467
2467
3467
4467
5467
6647
7647
8647
9647

so if the results is 1467, i want the queries to append to a new column that 4xxx is the potential nos.
