Our help desk and inventory group uses this.....I don't have an opinion one way or another about the product though, All I had to do with it was setting up a dts for the tables it needed to pull sms info from (without doing it directly from the sms db).
So anyway I guess the point I was getting at is, it might be quite a job to make it on your own
Thanks, we looked at that and ended up with Magic Help Desk. I have no opinions on this either, except that now the powers that be dont like it and want to buld something that integrates seemlessly with out portal product. I discovered yesterday in my research taht I could write a .NET web app using System.Management and get the ManagementBaseObjects for a Win32 machine fairly easily. The MBO has 52 named .Items, but I only know 14 of them and havent foudn the other 30+ so I don't kow if it will tell me about software or not.
