Hello everyone

I've found a reference to firmware updates below.

The following versions of up-issued firmware for the M3900 series of digital phones are now Generally Available:
• M3903 v8.8
• M3904 v9.0
• M3905 v9.0
This new firmware is applicable to the following CS software releases:
• X21 CS 1000 Release 3.0
• X21 CS 1000 Release 4.0
• X21 CS 1000 Release 4.5

The information was valid back then and since then another update has come out.

The following versions of up-issued firmware for the M3900 series of digital phones are now Generally Available:
M3903 version 9.0
M3904 version 9.3
M3905 version 9.3 version 9.4 now being shipped on Rls 7.5 sites

What I was wondering about was the compatibility of using for example M3904/M3905 version 9.3 on an older CS1000 system running 04.00t that would have only supported version 9.0. Would it cause any problems or has anyone been able to say that it is OK to do please.

I have an Option 11 with 9.4 firmware installed. I use it mainly to download the firmware to "new" 3904 sets before we install the sets on a CS100M 7.6.
I don't have the release bulletin for 9.4 but I do have the one for 9.3 which says it is compatible with CS1000 release 4.0.

Hello Stanley

Thanks for the quick reply back. I'm going to try it out as I don't see why it shouldn't work.

It is a little time consuming process on loading the files in and activating them. I'm doing it on a test system to save time on site.

I managed to load it in OK as shown below. However it is interesting to see that the ISSP shows it to be 7.5 LW against the Loadware at the bottom for the 3903, 3904 and 3905 files.

Just to update you all in that I rebuilt a CS1000M at version 04.00t with the latest Taurus M39xx loadware and it worked fine. The M3904 phone I had upgraded to issue 94 without any problems.
