Query for the registry

Hi,

I need to create a query that is able to report on a specific registry key.
We want to query what Virus Definition Version our McAfee antivirus is on, and the registry key looks like this:

Name Type Data

szDatVersion REG_SZ 4.0.4249

It's the data that I'm interested in.
Is it possible to create this query?
Help is much appreciated.

Its definitely possible. You need to learn how to modify your SMS_DEF.MOF file to include inventory of registry keys.
