I am creating collections from queries that I have made on a test domain. All is fine.

However, when I create queries on the production domain, the collections created from these queries do not display any resources.

I am not sure what has happened. The only diffence between the test and production sites is the production site contains the site server and database on separate machines.

Thanks,

Paranoid

When you say you have created the collection from the query on the test domain are you using the actual query from the test domain or have you created the same query in the prodution domain and used that? Does the query limit the results to a specific site code?

Stormer,

I am not using the same query in the production domain. I am creating different queries - not associated with the test site. So, there shouldn't be any problems with results being limited. The queries work fine in the production domain, but do not seem to executed within the collections.

Thanks,

Post your query. It might help determine what's going on here.

heya

this is the query,

---start---
select SMS_R_System.ResourceID,SMS_R_System.ResourceType,SMS_R_System.Name,SMS_R_System.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_System.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_System.Client from SMS_R_System where OperatingSystemNameandVersion like "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 5.0"
--end--

It works fine when i run it ..as a query ...
but when i use the query for the memebership rule for a collection and force and update on the collection it's show 0 membership ....

yet the query returns 20 clients.

please help

Well, that's a pretty standard query for a collection or reporting. I created a collection, copied your query in as a membership rule, and it immediately populated. Odd...

Two things
1) There is a canned report called 'Computers with a specific operating system'. Run it. Do you get the desired results?
2) This is just the SQL geek in me coming out. Change your LIKE statement to LIKE "%Workstation 5.1%".

Post back and let me know what happens.

In your case, LIKE "%Workstation 5.0%"

-If it ain't broke, break it and make it better.

see the thing is ...when i run the query it works like a charm...but when i copy and past it as a membership rule it does not populate the collect ?

like i said the query works ....

And like I said, it works fine for me when I copy it in. Can you run the report I mentioned?
