I need to gather some data from our call manager and the reporting tool that comes packaged with the server is horrible! We have Call Manager version 6.1. Is there anyway query the call detail records other then using the reporting tool? If so, please advise me.

Thanks

I have been reading and I see some threads for SQL Query analyzer but I don't think that call manager 6.1 is running on a windows platform. I was told its on a linux box. Is there a similar application I can use/learn to accomplish my goal?

there are several 3rd party accounting systems, some better then others. I recommend you try demoing office watch, but certainly try others also before making a purchase.

Thanks for the advice. I spoke with Cisco and they suggested the same thing. Its very frustrating to pay so much for a "state of the art" system that doesn't offer much of anything as far as reporting is concerned.

I feel your pain. However, I am also glad to see that call accounting has become much more user friendly as compared to 5 years ago.
Someone may be able to create reports inhouse after setting up the call manager to send the cdr data to a "billing server". but in this day and age who has the resources to devote to such a task.

Out of curiosity what system did you have before this solution that had a built in call accounting system?
I have never seen one so please enlighten me

if you speaking to me, ive never had a system that had call accounting built in its always been a 3rd party. several of the setups I maintain do not have call accounting at all. the last one I had was about 2 years ago. When I had purchased it 5 years ago it was "top o the line". did the job, but it was a challange to keep it updated and ultimatly created a bad experience.

Oops... I didn't manage the last phone system. I just did a little more research and it appears we did in fact have to use a 3rd party application to get our reports.

I was actually asking the original poster of this thread as he complained about paying too much for a system that does not have built in call acctg. So I figured there was one out there.
From his last post he was obviously mistaken as his last system had a 3rd party as well.
