Queries refuse to work

I have reinstalled Paradox 7 on my new computer and copied the existing files from the old one. The old computer used Windows 95 while Windows Me was preinstalled on the new one. Everything works fine except for the queries.
-EXISTING queries give the message: "Invalid filename"
-Queries in OBJECT PAL PROCEDURES give the message "An error was triggered in the "Exectute QBE" method on an object of Query type" -> "Invalid filename. Table XXX.db"
-NEW queries result in the message "Inalid filename. Table XXX.db".
I already reinstalled Paradox 7 but to no avail.
A database without queries is desperately sad. Can anyone help me ?

This might be obvious but the users I support most often get this error when they run a query without first switching the working directory to the correct location. A query will always look in the current working directory unless another directory or alias is specified. Since paradox goes back to the previous working directory they gradually forget this until a new installation is done and the working directory defaults to something different.

Thank you,Richie, for answering so promptly. As a matter of fact I had anticipated the problem you point out and I had used, in my new computer, exactly the same path (including capitals and lower-case letters) as in the old one.
The problem seems different, however, since even NEW queries won't work, and even worse, NEW queries intiated from a NEW database give me the same error message.

If a new query on a new table is failing, then maybe it's something to do with the operating system. I don't have any experience with windowsME but if its the same as windows2000 we did have disappearing buttons on windows2000 which were solved by the apcompat.exe program from MS. This allows you to choose what version of wondows you know the program works with. eg. associate paradox7 with winNT 4.0.
I don't know if this program applies to windowsME but its worth finding out.
Do a google search on "apcompat.exe paradox" for more info.

. In a German magazine I found on the web I read: "Paradox 7, for instance, won't run under Windows 2000 without the help of APCOMPAT".
Since Windows ME was preinstalled on my computer and I only received recovery discs instead of a full version of Windows ME I will now start searching for APCOMPAT.EXE.
I think it is worthwile to mention that I started with Paradox for DOS, had later to upgrade to Paradox Windows 1.0 for compatibility with Windows 3.5. When my next computer ran on Windows 95, I was forced to upgrade to Paradox 7.0 (which was then sold only as a part of the complete Corel Office 7 Suite). And now this... It's a pity the Microsoft people don't take compatibility with non-MS applications more into account. Anyway, I wouldn't like to exchange my Paradox for any other database application.
If I can lay hands on APCOMPAT.EXEand put it to work, I'll let you know what the results were.
