i am trying to use InDesign CS2 from using Quarkxpress 5.0.1. and want your opions on rather it's worth it or not.
I have never used the InDesign but have to make a decision on this trasition.
Does any one have problems with printshops on printing projects with InDesign?
I want to keep using Quark but i don't think it can work back and forth with InDesign.
Any comments would be great.
thank you.

I have been a QuarkXPress user for many many years and just a month ago made the switch to InDesign -- and YES, IT'S VERY WORTH IT. I have the learning curve to be not too steep and there are things I can do in InDesign that I only DREAMED about in XPress. I know that I'll never pay QUARK another dime for a useless upgrade again -- like version 5)
Hurry -- switch!! You'll be glad you did...i promise.

I too WAS a Quark user for several years and prior to that PageMaker and prior to that the old school using pounds of wax and a hundred #11 Xacto blades per week.

InDesign CS or CS2 is the Best thing since DTP became a reality. Not only is it worth the switch but as the previous poster stated things are possible that could only be dreamed of with quark and others.

I too have determined that Quark will never see another dime from me.

Sending your files out as PDF/X-1a makes printing a breeze. Sending native documents (whether QXD or INDD) is soooo 20th century!
