When I go to my scroll down menus and select either Print or Page Setup, I get the message: "Cannot open the printer".

In this instance I am not actually wanting to print, but rather I want to create a PostScript file, using the print settings.

I should be able to access these control panels even though I am not connected to a printer. Why am I getting this message?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm using Quark 4.

I might be missing something here, but how will an Adobe download help me with problems in Quark?

You need a Postscript Driver so Quark thinks you have a postscript printer hooked up. you can get drivers at this site.
I do not have a postscript printer on my home PC so this is where I got my drivers.

Sorry, I forgot that Adobe invented Postscript!

Thanks.

If you are trying to create a postscript file from Quark, you may need to have an actual printer attached to your system or make your system think that there is a printer hooked up. You can do this by loading a virtual printer driver, such as the free Virtual Printer Driver from Adobe. There may be other virtual printer drivers available, I just happen to use Adobe.
