I'm have intermittent problems with quark 6 files. After working on a document for a while, when I attempt to save the document I sometimes get an error stating "File is already open." This happens even with a new document that has just been created. It ends up not allowing me to save the file in any way, and I lose any information that had been entered since the last save. Anyone have any ideas?

Will it let you do a "Save As"? If so, the workaround would be to "Save As" new name & delete the old - what a PAIN!

Actually, it appears from one of the other threads on the forum, that this is another result of Norton Antivirus' auto protection feature.

Yes it's definitly Norton Antivirus. Turn it off, and Quark will work. I wrote Quark a few months ago and heard back about 4 weeks later. They said they were working on a patch. Instead of waiting for the patch, I trashed Norton and that problem went away immediately.

Duckweed - I hope you're right. I have a severe personal problem deleting Anti-virus software but an even bigger problem not getting work done.

I've been having this problem from the moment I installed QXP yesterday...I hope this clears it up. I'll let you know.
