Quark 5 Won't paste the first time

Using OS X with classic mode (OS 9) so i can run Quark 5 (company does not want to upgrade to 6 ;(. Now it's not a huge issue but, If a blank template is not opened before the inital item is copied it i will not paste into the blank document.

Any ideas. Is it just another incompatibility between OS X and Classic Mode?

I have tried rebulding the permissions, but still a no go.

When you're in classic, you're basically in 9, so things usually work the same and the ususal things can go wrong. You might try going to Systems Prefs/Classic and checking what's set up under Advanced. You could also rebuild your classic desktop from that window.

I don't have to paste stuff from OSX apps into Q4 anymore (went to Indesign) but I do have to paste a lot of OSX stuff into into Dreamweaver 4 (classic) and I have not experienced any problems.

Quark doesn't work well with the packaged classic that comes with OS X. I was able to fix a lot of my problems by loading a full version of 9.2 onto my machine instead of the classic that was provided. If this is possible for you, it might be worth a try.

Thanks dodge20. it seems after loading the full 9.2, everything is working great. Although this is only temp as we are looking to expand to quark 6 . Nobody wants to go to indesign at my workplace. GRRRRR
