I occasionally use Quark 4.11 (Reluctantly. InDesign rules.) with Windows XP on a two-monitor system. Although Quark allows me to move my palettes to the second monitor, they all are grouped back on the primary monitor when I restart Quark. I realize there is no hope for a fix to this in Q4, but was it fixed in Q5 or Q6?

Are you saying that you are considering an upgrade to Quark 6 solely because of palette locations? [bigsmile]

Try swapping your monitors to fix the problem.

Ha! Hardly. I'm hoping to never buy Quark 6. I'm sure swapping monitors is no solution. Every other two-monitor-capable program I own works perfectly, including all of my Adobe apps and MS Flight Simulator.

Sorry - I have not seen Quark effectively used on a 2-monitor set-up. Quark may not have considered allowing for this since they assumed their customers would blow all of their money on Quark and not have enough left over for hardware.

I've always used a two monitor system right from my first PowerMac 6100 and I have never had a problem with the palettes positioning in Q/Xpress. I'm still using v 4 on a G4 running OS9. I also have a G5 with OSX but I will probably not upgrade to Q6. InDesign looks too good.
