Hello all,

I checked the forum and couldn't find much info on this. I am trying to connect a QSIG T1 between a Nortel CS1000/81C and an NEC 2400 ICS. I am more versed on the NEC side than the Nortel. Has anybody been able to successfully accomplish this? If so, can you post your RDB, ADAN, and TRK info? In the NEC manual, it states the NEC can support the ETS 300 172 QSIG standards. Thanks!

Hey John, thanks for the quick reply. I set my RDB, D-channel, and trunks the way you had in your other thread. The d-channel would not establish. Then I realized that I have the NEC set to be the USR side, so I changed the ADAN prompt SIDE to NET and the D-channel came right up.

Now the problem I am having is I try to make a call from the Nortel to the NEC, and I just get dead air. After about 10 seconds the call drops, and the trunk is placed in LCKO. If I originate a call on the NEC side, we just get a fast busy. Both PBXs look like they are happy, the d-channel is up on both sides, I'm not sure what the issue is? I'm working on trying my hand at some d-channel traces, but like I said, I am new to the Nortel.

did you down load the msdl..

ld 96
dis msdl x all
enl msdl x fdl

that writes the data to the msdl.daughter board.. you may need to map dch prior ot knocking it down

I'm a bit red in the face as I just found out the version of software I am running on the NEC does not support QSIG. What would the best practice be to connect these 2 PBXs? We would prefer a d-channel with our T1. The NEC can handle NI2, at&t 4ess and 5ess, and DMS 100 and 250.

I would prefer NI2, but I know you can't set the Nortel to tie when you choose NI2. Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you can do ni2, and mark it internal.. that gives you names and mwi if you need them on your d

Thanks for the advice, John! One last question (hopefully). What would I mark for the TKTP?

trunk type should be tie or did.. i perfer tie for that app.

and the start type does not matter as long as it matches

Thanks for your help, John. I now have a working NI2 config between our NEC and our Nortel. I appreciate it!
