what is your real domain name and what is the MX record for your domain? Please don't hide details otherwise it becomes almost impossible to help.

my domain is

monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx

and the MX record is

rhaes.monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx

i have only 3 active accounts to test

samaniego@monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx
miguel@monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx
zpydex@monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx

thanx for the help

Knowing all that, are you able to telnet port 25, the SMTP port?

Wishdiak

yes, i can Telnet port 25, i can send Mail from telenet, u can check it, but it still cant RECIEVE any mail.

Arisugawa,

It sounds like a possible port/firewall issue. Do you have a firewall in place that may be blocking port 25 from outside your LAN?

Wishdiak

yeah, i also thought that it maybe possible, but port 25 is open, as a matter of fact, i just Telnet port 25 from here (my PC at home), and everything was just fine, but it seems that that email composed via SMTP commands wasnt sent to my email address either.

u can try making a Telnet connection to the smtp port.

Arisugawa,

It looks like there is a problem with your MX record.

DNSreport.com's mailserver test reported:
[red]Getting MX record for monitoreodelaireirapuato.org.mx... Received a SERVER FAILURE response[/red]

Wishdiak

hey Thanx, yeah that was the problem, so now i need to kill the guy in charge of DNS servers.

Well thank u very much fot the tip, i didnt realize that the MX record was wrong, so take my advice, always double check things when someone tells u "yeah its fine, not my prob" hehehe, just kidding

THANX WISHDIAK

and thanx to TekTips 4 this helpful forums.

Arisugawa,

It's always a matter of double checking all the pieces to find the one missing link. I ususally work in order of easiest to hardest, but that's just me. I'm glad you got it all worked out.
