I have an extra computer lying around. Would it be smart to format it and put DOS on it, then do all my programming on that? And if i did that, what would the fastest version be then? -Mike
Yes, thats your best bet, I have many computer, but I do almost all of my programming on my trusty old 486 and 8088s.
version 4.5 or 1.1 would be best, it depends on what you want to do with them.
In any version of Windows beyond 98 expect to see some problems when it comes to running QuickBasic. I've got Windows 2000 and almost nothing QB works under it anymore...
I use Calldera DR-DOS for all of my QB stuff. I've got an EXE that makes DR-DOS a bootfloppy. I also have the Mouse.Com device driver that IBM shipped with their so I can use the mouse in the IDE and the QB programs.
