QAD ERP And Cognos

I have over 10 Years of experience in QAD MFG/PRO (who have tied up with Cognos for BI) and have got certified in Cognos 8. Would like to know if anybody out there use QAD ERP interfacing with Cognos BI. Also i am very interested to get into Cognos and any suggestions on how to proceed further to get into the field would be welcome(exisiting company is deliberating due to budget constraints). Is there any evaluation / education version which exists??? I have got certified in AdHoc Query, Analysis and reporting tools and would really like to get into metadata modelling.

Hi,

There are no specific evaluation or education versions of Cognos 8 as far as I'm aware.

When you say you are certified in Cognos 8, do you mean you have attended the Cognos 8 courses, or are you saying you have passed the Cognos 8 exams (Author, Modeller and Administrator)?

I have completed the courses and passed exams in Ad Hoc Query and Report Writing / Analysis tools . I was part of the evaluation team when we evaluated the Cognos BI tools offered by our ERP vendor. I liked the tool and want to pursue it (Not being bought by our company due to budget constraints).

Do you also use QAD with Cognos ?? Just curious, and if so would like to share experiences.

No, I don't use QAD, sorry. Just Cognos tools.
