My company uses a CM4.1 setup with 200+ phones. I don't quite know how to describe my issue so I'll describe it the best I can.
Our Telco has provided us with a range of numbers, xxxx-100 to xxxx-400. xxxx-100 is the receptionist number, but all extensions are also reachable directly. My problem is that all outgoing calls are using the xxxx-100 number and the called party cannot tell which extension is the actual caller. Then they call back using the xxxx-100 number which puts a lot of strain on the receptionist.
Is there a way to have the Callmanager (or the voice switch) send out the full number? I can see the outgoing extensions directly ond the switch by using "sh isdn active" command, but the outgoing number shown on called party's phone is still xxxx-100... any way around this?
Any info would be greatly appreciated...
