If a user of a 5320 phone has a message waiting, hits the vm key without picking up the receiver, the display says "Call Nupoint MW". Sometimes, though, one person will accidentally hit something on their phone that causes that message to come not from NuPoint, but from their extension directly. If the person picks up the receiver and hits the VM key, it doesn't go to VM, it calls that person. What's that feature called, and how do you use it? It's not callback, that works entirely differently.

I figured out how to do it, if I call an extension, and hit the voice mail key while that extension is ringing, that does it. I'd like to know what the feature is called, though. If you have visual VM enabled on 5330e phone, the other model we have, it doesn't do it, though. I'd also like to know how to make that work if you're using visual VM, is there a programmable key I can add to the phone to do that? The whole idea seems cool, why bother to leave a message that just says "call me back", when you could do it with one key stroke?

Seems cool"

Yeah, until the trouble tickets start rolling in about the message waiting key flashing but not having any messages in VM

You cant turn it off unless the call is answered. (Typically)

Believe me, I disable this feature whenever I can. It is not worth the headache.
