Python as a Service Registry Key

I am running a python script as a service and I need to be able to store the log file in a folder other than the one the script executes from, but I cannot hard code the folder into the script. Does anyone know a Registry Key or a different fix for my problem?

You can store log_file_path in
- your own registry key or
- .ini-file or
- environment variable

then in your app read this path info
