PVID inconsistency across hdiskpower devices

I have a 2-node cluster using an EMC disk array. The EMC disks are presented to the hosts as hdiskpowerx under a lspv listing.

I recently restored one of the nodes from a mksysb backup. This changed the VG major numbers in /dev and also resulted in an inconsistency between hdiskpower devices and PVID's on each node as per a lspv listing.

I know how to sync the VG major numbers across the cluster.

What I'm note sure about is...
What is the best way to achieve PVID consistency across hdiskpower devices throughout the cluster?

I had this same issue I removed all of the hdisks on both nodes and readded them.

In AIX 5.1 and 5.2

Deactivate both nodes 1st, this will not work if another node has control of the disks.

# rmdev -dl hdisk#

Re-ran cfgmgr
# cfgmgr

Then reassigned all of pvids.
chdev -l $H -a pv=yes

Now if your majors are miss-aligned...

You will need to export all vgs and re import on both nodes.

cldiskavailable is suppose to take care of this, but it does not do it all the time.
