can someone please explain how I can put, say a two hour video movie onto a couple of blank cd"s and for them to play in my dvd player, which lives under my tv, not in the computer. The player can play just about all file formats
so I would be greatful for any help.
The sort of help required is,how to connect the video to the computer as my video card has inputs as does the sound card, which file format to use, programme etc. I also want to
put two wedding video"s on to disk so I can send them abroad.
Thankyou ed109

A two hour video is going to take more than a couple of CD's.
You'll need to get a video capture card to hook up to your cam/vcr (software is usually included), and save it in .wma or .avi or .mpg or .asf format (depends on the software).
You can then burn it to any CDR disk. The only problem may stem from the length of the movie, if it's larger than 700MB, you'll have to split it into 700MB chunks before burning, unless your burner program has the ability to "span" disks.
This has nothing to do with DVD, by the way, if you want a DVD disk of your home movies, you'll have to find a professional studio with a DVD burner (they cost about $10,000) to do it for you. Cheers,

Ever heared of DivX? I (VERY) quickly looked at that link and it just seems to be about VCDs.

You can store very high quality movies on a single CD. There are no DVD players capable of playing this format but its worth looking at anyway.

You'll also find links about making MiniDVDs and other stuff.
