Hi,

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to use the R6 features to push out application upgrades to the users. I can easily upgrade the mail file, but I understood that there is a way to upgrade the program through something like an administrative install (ie. setting all parameters, client clicks on an install button on an email that admin sends to them and it automatically updates the application without user intervention).

Can anyone offer suggestions on implementing this?

Hi,

You need to copy the installation files to a network share first and then specify the location of the setup.exe in the "upgrade by mail" function.

This will allow you to upgrade the client program.

Alternatively you can use the Notes Smart Upgrade that users can trigger themselves.

Personally I prefer using an Administrative Image and then let the users start the .msi file (that can be customized). I use this on diskless PC's.

Everything you need to know for each of these three methods is completely covered in the Notes Administration Help that comes with Domino.

Kind regards,
