Hello,

I currently have CCNP and have one year left before expiration. I would like to go for CCIE instead of just renewing. I would like to hear from those who had gone this path. Any suggestions, lessons learned, advice, etc. will be much appreciated. What type of preparation, study materials, labs, etc? At this point, I'm focusing on the written part. Thanks in advance.

MY CCNP was due to expired in November, but I just passed the CCIE Written.

I used The new Cisco Press R&S "Official Exam Cert Guide" and Jeff Doyle's new "Routing TCP over IP Vol2" sec edition. I also used CBT nuggets CCIE CBTs, Boson practice test and the "Actualtest.com" practice test.

I would say that you should be able to read and break down Modular CLI (MQL) and route maps very fast. you have 100 questions and 2 hours to complete them.
